Alan Harrison (art collector) at the opening of the Traverse Gallery's Edinburgh Festival Exhibition, presented at the Bank of Scotland offices, 97-99 George Street, Edinburgh. The exhibition was of work by Mark Boyle, Xavier Corbero, Olivier Herdies, William Featherston, Esther Gentle, Abraham Rattner and Allen Leepa.The text (left) is by Pierre Restany. The introduction for the exhibition catalogue was written by Douglas Hall, Curator of the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art (Inverleith House).
This was the first of four exhibitions which Richard Demarco presented outside the confines of the Traverse Gallery and before the founding of the Richard Demarco Gallery in 1966. The others were held at St. Hild's College, University of Durham, the newly-opened University of York, and the David Hume Tower, University of Edinburgh.
