1967. University of Edinburgh students' Charities Week (Rag Week) parade. The banner on the float, 'Sorrey Canyon', refers to the Torrey Canyon (the first oil supertanker) which ran aground in March 1967 between the Scilly Isles and Land's End causing a disastrous oil spill. The wreck was sunk by RAF bombing.
