1976. Chris Wainwright installation. Hagar Qim, Malta. Edinburgh Arts 1976.

11 June 1976. Installation by Chris Wainwright at Hagar Qim, Malta. Edinburgh Arts 1976. Wainwright described the installation in the catalogue A Journey from Hagar Qim to the Ring of Brodgar (p.28):
The piece consisted of six lines defined by points of fire.
The fires were produced in tin cans containing a mixture of sand and paraffin.
One of the lines pointed to magnetic north.
The other five lines pointed to prehistoric sites in Europe that Edinburgh Arts would be visiting.
These places were: the Nuraghe (Sardinia), Carnac (France), Newgrange (Ireland), Arbor Low (England), Ring of Brodgar (Orkney).
The length of the lines was proprotional to the distance from Hagar Qim to the places to which they were pointing.
