August 1970. Joseph Beuys sitting on the platform for Keith Critchlow and Alan Hacker's 'musical environment' Sound in Space (25-29 August) presented by the RDG in Edinburgh College of Art as part of the 1970 Edinburgh Festival Fringe (contemporaneously with Strategy: Get Arts). The performance took place within a structure designed by Critchlow, parts of which can be seen above Beuys.
