1976. The Girt Dog of Langport. Edinburgh Arts 1976 exhibition. Fruitmarket Gallery, Edinburgh.

1976. On 6 July the Edinburgh Arts group travelled to Wells via Burrow Mump and "the landscape of the Great Dog of Lamport" (sic; from the catalogue A Journey from Hagar Qim to the Ring of Brodgar, p. 63).

The image above is a representation by Brian Larkman of the Girt Dog of Langport, one of the disputed landscape figures associated with the putative 'Glastonbury Zodiac' in Somerset. The dog, if it is a genuine figure, would extend over five miles from nose to tail. Exhibited in A Journey from Hagar Qim to the Ring of Brodgar (4-24 December 1976), also referred to as Edinburgh Arts Europe '76 and Edinburgh Arts '76, presented by the RDG at the Scottish Arts Council's Fruitmarket Gallery, Market Street, Edinburgh.
