3 August-1 September 1984. John Cousins' performance Membrane, with (foreground) the 'Pressure Dome (with reeds)', that produced sounds in response to the artist's breathing (one of two 'sounding bodies' used in the performance, the other being the 'Sounding Drums'). Performed as part of ANZART (Australian and New Zealand artists in Edinburgh) at Edinburgh College of Art.

ANZART was part of the Demarcation '84 project, presented at Edinburgh College of Art and the Talbot Rice Art Centre, organised by the RDG in collaboration with the Visual Arts Board of the Australia Council, the Arts Council of New Zealand, and the Visiting Arts Unit of Great Britain, for the Edinburgh International Festival.
